Week 6 | Digital Photography

Photography is the art to capture the moment or method to document our daily life, in this lecture we look more deeply into the digital photography technique.

To capture a image, we have to learn the basic setting of the photography:

For DSLR, it can be divided into two main parts:
1. Camera body (The camera body is a light proof box):
- Shutter (typically made of plastic, serves the function of either exposing the film to light or blocking it from exposure by opening and closing)
- Image sensor
- LCD screen

2. Camera lens:
- Aperture/ Iris ( is like a door which control the light that allow to go in to the camera.)

However, post processing also part of the digital photography, it is used to enhance the original image to make the photo looks more impactful.

To do the cloth texture, we must follow the three conditions:

1. B&W
2. Photoshop File
3. Blur it

Step 1: Convert the photo into black and white mode.

Step 2: Apply blur>gaussian blur.

Step 3: Adjust the amount between 5-10  then save file as photoshop file.

Step 4: After then open the jpg file and flag file, convert the flag file as smart object.

Step 5: Apply distort>display, select ok.

Step 6: Select the displacement map ps file.

Step 7: Can try out any blending mode to blend in with the cloth.
