Reflection | Final Project

Before starting my final self-tilted project, I researched some mood image for my design direction:

When brainstorming the artwork, I was thinking how to show the relationship between me and my cat through photoshop as we are supposed to use our own portrait to reveal my identity. My cat is one of the important thing in my life. Hence I want to take a portrait for myself and cut out the upper part of my face and make the upper part as the garden and my cat is playing inside the garden. In the garden, I would put my favourite tulip field. For the overall mood, I would like to make it as dreamy to show the mysterious world and the colour palette would be purple, pink and blue to show the surreal and dreamy mood.

Process of photoshop:

Content aware the duplicated mountain and touch up a bit to make it look more realistic.

Add my photo and adjust the level of my pants to make it look brighter.

Cut out my head and add blending mode.

Add cat and tulip field inside my head.

Add some cat, mask and adjust the lighting.

Add some tulip to cover up the bottom part.

Overall outcome:

Import ps file in after effect and start to do the animation.

In after effects, I also applied puppet tool to show the butterflies flying movement.

FINAL POSTER

In my self-portrait accompanied by my beloved cat, I aim to delve into the realms of imagination and create a dreamy visual narrative that unveils the mysterious world within my cat’s world. Through the medium of creative Photoshop manipulation, I have crafted a surreal composition that transports the viewer into a whimsical journey. The artwork's dreamy color scheme creates an ethereal atmosphere, inviting observers to explore a realm where reality and fantasy intertwine. The inclusion of fishes symbolizes fluidity and exploration, while a field of tulips adds familiarity and serenity. By intertwining the portrayal of my cat and myself, I aim to capture the profound bond and shared experiences between me and my cat.. As companions, we embark on a journey together, unveiling hidden worlds and offering solace in our shared dreams. The self-portrait serves as a reflection of my own introspection, a visual manifestation of the profound connection which I share with my cat.
